Ant on the Run

Design and build banner

Last December, I was asked by a friend if I was interested in joining him on a challenge that he was looking to get involved in. He already had a group assembled, but he needed one more person to complete the team.

It’s called 30-30, it’s a long slog across Exmoor over 30 miles carrying 30 pounds (hence the name), and it’s in aid of the Royal British Legion. I’ve always been interested in fitness, so I was well up for it. We’ve been running regularly since December, and doing a lot of contests between us to keep the competiveness alive.

As time has gone by I’ve realised this is one hell of a challenge. The guys who I’m training with are top calibre, regularly running all sorts of marathons (Edinburgh, London, Brighton etc), so I’ve got my work cut out for me.

I hope to continue writing updates on the progress of my training up to the week of the challenge in September, so stay tuned!
