Brief

Originally two separate entities, Letts and Lonsdale wanted to reposition their digital brand to increase online revenue.

Red Ant strategy

  • Combine the Letts Educational and Lonsdale websites into one integrated site.

Tactics

  • Design and build a full eCommerce site to enable Letts to maximise revenue driving opportunities
  • Create a community feel to enhance loyalty from teachers, parents and students alike
  • Focus on different personas and user journeys to allow creation of key revenue opportunities and development of appropriate features for the teachers, parents and students to benefit from
  • Focus attention on search functionality, allowing users to search using multiple criteria such as key stage, age range, subject or digital product, as well as the free search area

Results

  • High browse time on site
  • Revenue generation opportunities have greatly increased
  • Simple navigation for the target audiences

Letts and Lonsdale publish revision guides and resources for pupils preparing for tests and exams. Revision support is also provided through publications that teach pupils effective study skills and give advice to help with test and exam preparation. Letts and Lonsdale is part of the education division of HarperCollins, which as a group has global revenues of around £64 million.
