Red Ant expands into China
Red Ant has teamed up with leading marketing talent in Shanghai to bring our digital expertise to China.
Based in the heart of Shanghai, our new office is part of Jiashan Market, a vibrant urban garden community with a multicultural flavour.
The team
To complement Red Ant’s global reputation for excellence across all digital disciplines, our team on the ground in Shanghai provides first-class local knowledge and experience:
Jacopo Stecchini is CEO of Red Ant China. Italian by birth, he spent a number of years in the US dividing his time between New York and Los Angeles, working on campaigns for some of the world’s largest brands including Diesel, Chopard and Dainese, as well as global Government authorities and associations. He came to Shanghai five years ago, where he has devoted his time to successfully integrating on- and offline campaigns for European brands in the Chinese market.
Linda Yu heads the team in Shanghai. Having spent seven years as a journalist/editor for print publications such as Oriental Morning Post, Time Out Shanghai and Global Times, she now specialises in social media, and continues to write for The Bund on a regular basis.
Tobias Eisenmann is Account Manager. With a background in business development in IT education, he has a passion for digital media and advertising, as well as discovering and sharing the latest electronic music.
We are also committed to seeking out and working with a range of talented people who can bring the latest technical and creative skills to the team, as well as a perspective on local trends and opinions.
Why China?
When it comes to the internet, China is the world’s fastest growing market:
- Over 480 million people online, with more than 800 million waiting to be connected
- 181 million active bloggers
- 235 million social network users
- China has overtaken the US as the largest global smartphone market
China provides fertile ground for the digital development and promotion of global brand messages – the audience has an appetite for information and an enthusiasm for digital engagement.
Linda Yu says: ‘We want to use our skills and experience to help international clients better understand the market in China, enabling them to gain a foothold in a complex and expanding digital environment, and at the same time provide an invaluable consultancy and strategy planning service to local clients and brands with global vision and ambitions.’
Think global, act local
What makes Red Ant stand out from the crowd is our commitment to sharing knowledge and best practice, and to ensuring that clients benefit from local as well as international expertise.
Red Ant Group CEO Dan Mortimer says: ‘Thanks to the way we actively share skills and intelligence, people across the globe are starting to sit up and take notice. We believe that pairing a global perspective with local experience benefits everyone involved – us, the clients and, ultimately, the end customer – we really can offer the best of all worlds.’
Big brands and big projects
Red Ant’s success in delivering innovative, creative and high quality social and web-based solutions to a range of big-name clients is reflected in the interest it is already receiving from international brands in Shanghai.
With new briefs coming in every day and a formidable team in place, Red Ant is ready to take on an exciting future in China.
