UK fashion retailer Jack Wills has unveiled its first transactional mobile app, which has been developed in conjunction with technology firm Red Ant.
The app, which has been created for iPhone, iPad and Android, provides a look-book, barcode scanner, access to personal profiles and wish-list tool, as well as social sharing and image-heavy rich content.
Jack Wills can use the app to send promotions, seasonal offers and gift vouchers direct to the pockets of its customers.
Dan Mortimer, CEO of Red Ant, the company which sponsored the Retailer Lounge at RBTE 2015, said: "Jack Wills customers expect flexibility in how they shop, when, where and the type of service they receive – our AppCommerce platform has the ability to provide this as part of a truly connected multichannel experience."
Last year saw Jack Wills announce Labour peer and former trade minister, Lord Davies of Abersoch, as its chairman.
The business also opened its first stores in Singapore and Macau, as its expansion into Asia continued. The retailer has already established a presence in Hong Kong's key shopping districts and is eying further growth in nearby markets.
Red Ant recently teamed up with online fashion house Asos to create mobile apps specifically for the e-tailer's growing customer base in China – a market Jack Wills is reportedly keen to target.
